She was born on July 3, 1925 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Gid and Edrie Jones.
She met Forrest Estes through family and they were married and blessed with 7 children. She spent the majority of her adult life raising children and grandchildren in the Yakima Valley.
She was a faithful Christian and attended the Mead Avenue Gospel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church for many years. In her free time she spent countless hours ministering to non-believers about the power of Jesus, a strong faith she passed on to her family. Her heart was a servant and she would never let anyone leave her house empty handed.
She would give everyone she met a Pepsi and she wouldn’t take no for an answer. When she became ill and left her assisted living home, the staff there said everyone there went through Pepsi withdrawals.
She was a wonderful person and will greatly be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is with Jesus now, and has no more suffering. We love you Mom.
Survivors include her daughters Carol Torres and Judy Lewis; sons Carl Gene Estes and Jim Estes; grandchildren Jerry Hilton Jr., Marco Antonio Torres, Janelle Lewis, Bret Whittlesey, Carly Estes, Lisa Estes, Laurie Estes, Ryan Knight, Nicholas Knight, Regina Moskaloff, Kylia Lewis, Cindy Knight and Sabrina Estes; numerous great grandchildren; and brother Fred Jones.
She is preceded in death by her husband Forrest Estes; three day old daughter Marilynn Margie Estes; daughters Sharon Luepke and Shirley Moskaloff; sisters Leola Pender and Juanita Jones; as well as a brother, Charles Jones.
Edith and her family love flowers, and they would be greatly appreciated for the service.
