

Erasmo “Mo” Garcia, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on November 26th at 4:22 p.m., surrounded by loved ones, after bravely battling stage IV stomach cancer.
Born on May 9, 1975, in Yakima, Washington, to Primitivo and Juana Garcia, Mo grew up in a large, family as one of eight children. He was an Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Mo graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1994. In 1999, while working at M & M Catering, he met the love of his life, Cheryl. They married on October 27, 2001, and together raised three children: Emily (1996), Alana (2002), and Keagen (2006) His kids were his pride and joy in life.
In 2003, Mo began his 23-year long career at Costco, where he became a cherished and familiar presence. Known affectionately as “the guy on the floor scrubber,” he rode the Zamboni with his signature bright smile that seemed to lift everyone’s spirits.
He also brought joy to “Salsa Fridays” as the weekly DJ, sharing his love of music, community, and dance.
Mo had an incredible sense of humor and a talent for making people laugh. He could turn any moment into something lighter, brighter, and easier. He also had a green thumb and took pride in nurturing his plants with the same care he gave the people around him.
Holidays were Mo’s time to shine. Even in years when there wasn’t much to spare, he transformed the house with decorations, lights, and creativity—making the season feel magical. His gift-wrapping was legendary, with every present looking like it came straight from the North Pole. His attention to detail and love for creating joy will be deeply missed.
A proud nerd, Mo adored The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and all things sci-fi and fantasy. He also had a special fondness for Scotland thanks to his love of Braveheart—a passion that inspired his kilt, even in his final resting place. He loved talking movies of every genre, from classic westerns to futuristic adventures, and enjoyed music of all kinds.
Above all else, Mo was a family man. Becoming a grandfather to Elias and Enzio brought him immense happiness. He embraced being “Grandpa” with pride, tenderness, goofiness, and endless love.
Mo will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, and the warmth he brought into every space he entered. His laughter, spirit, and the joy he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
