Ernest (Ernie) Brussman passed away surrounded by family on Friday, May 20, 2016. He was born February 25, 1935 to Grace and Clarence Brussman in Sunnyside, WA. He graduated from Selah High School in 1954. He worked at Dakota Aircraft, Holmes Tire Service, Taylor Logging, and then opened his own business, Ernie’s Auto Repair. Somehow all conversations with him ended up about cars. He loved NASCAR, the Yakima Speedway, being outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, and boating.
He is survived by his companion Ivory Hawkins; daughters Michelle (Erik) Pedersen of Mt. Vernon, Galene Ortiz of Yakima, Rita (Bob) Schuster of Portland, OR, Cheryl Malstrom of Portland, OR; his sons Ron Brussman of Denver, CO, Ron (Kim) Hawkins of Yakima, Rick (Elaine) Hawkins of Benton City; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Marvin Randolph, and his sons Richard and Larry Brussman.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
