

Gene was born in Laverne, Minnesota on April 23, 1928 to Harry and Florence Parrish.
He was a World War II veteran and served as a medic in Germany where he met and married his first wife, Geslia. They had three daughters all from Oregon.
Gene married his second wife, Virgina Parrish and made their home in Yakima, WA. Gene worked for Haney Trucking as a foreman and also retired from there.
Gene loved fishing. He and his wife fished as often as they could, but Gene’s biggest passion was bowling. He was a very accomplished bowler and bowled for many years several times a week. Gene was also a very skilled craftsman.
He is survived by daughter, Debbie Parrish of Oregon; step-son, Delyle Walters and step daughter, Sharon Morgan, both of Selah, WA; sister, Lois and brother, Dell both of Eugene, Oregon. Gene is survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his parent’s Harry & Florence Parrish; his former wife’s Geslia Parrish and Virginia Parrish; his brother Russ Parrish and sister Ramona Svarverud; two daughters Christie Larson and Shirley Mains; one grandchild Ashley Walters.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
