

Evelyn Louise Wilcox, born July 10, 1925 at Platner, CO into the family of Roscoe Roland and Alberta (Carey) Saxton.
She spent her early years and received her education in the community there. In 1943 she moved with her family to Yakima, WA.
She joined the United States Cadet Corps in 1944, graduating from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1947. She and Lorin Elmer Wilcox were married July 9, 1948 in Yakima.
Evelyn was a member of the St. Elizabeth School Alumni Association.
Among her many enjoyments included her antiques, doing family genealogy, writing the family history and collecting buttons. She enjoyed her hobby by researching, creating unique displays and sharing her collection with many friends and groups.
Her surviving family includes two sons, Norman and wife Jackie Wilcox of Puyallup, WA, Allan Wilcox of Taos, NM, granddaughters Nancy Knowles (Andy) of Bellevue, WA, Christa Hastings (Fred) of Tukwila, WA, along with great grandchildren Spencer Hastings, Erin, Jonas and Charlie Ann Knowles; her siblings, Bonnie Golightly of Kennewick, WA, Deloris VanVleck of Lakebay, WA, Ronald Saxton of Yakima, WA, Dixie Olson (Victor) and Roger Saxton (Coleen) of Federal Way, WA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lorin Elmer Wilcox of 46 years, her parents Roscoe Roland and Alberta (Carey) Saxton, brother Ralph Eugene Saxton and sister Rosetta Mae Berkhiemer.
Together, family and friends will gather to celebrate Evelyn’s life and give her a public farewell at the family gravesite at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima, WA on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.keithandkeith.com.
