Forest 'Wayne' Worgum Jr., born in Ellensburg, Washington on June 1, 1942, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Yakima Memorial Hospital. He was 72 years old. He was a proud graduate of Ellensburg High School class of 1960.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp vet; he worked in construction; he was a tree faller in the logging industry (until the spotted owl controversy); and finally snagged employment with the WDOT as a highway maintenance man. Whatever position, he always gave his best.
He was a member of the NRA and the Yakima Valley Muzzleloader Club. He was a devout Republican and followed Fox News religiously. He loved fishing, hunting, and shooting black powder
guns. After retirement he became a skilled winemaker, providing the wine for his son's wedding and other celebrations. The wine was “bubbly and explosive”. He was also a member of the Curlys' Gang.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, sons, David Parnelli and Forest Wayne III, grandchildren, Emma, Brandon, and Carter, his brother, Maurice and sister, JoAnne Mesodjednik. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Phillip. He also leaves his best buddy and tennis ball retriever, Barkley.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ha and his staff at North Star Lodge and Dr. Shiveley and his team at Urology. Thanks also go to two special friends, Loren Lund and Chuck Bailey, who were always there to encourage and include him in activities.
A family and friend’s celebration of his life will be at a future date.
Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
