

Frank graduated from Marquette High School in 1937, followed by a year at Seattle University. As part of “The Greatest Generation,” Frank spent 3 ½ years in the Army Air Corps, during World War II, stationed in Florida and Hawaii. Returning to Yakima, he completed courses at Yakima Business College and began a lifelong career in accounting retiring from Decoto Aircraft in 1987 after 22 years.
In 1961, Frank married Jane (Brennan) Chauvin, a widow who was raising five sons ranging in age from 5-16. Frank and Jane enjoyed many travels and time spent relaxing at their cabin on Chinook Pass. In addition, Frank served as treasurer of the Yakima Valley Literacy Council, as well as volunteering at St. Joseph Church, the Yakima Senior Center, and also served as a Notary Public.
Right up until his passing, Frank was a master of crossword puzzles, scrabble, and had an incredible memory for numbers.
One of Frank’s favorite hobbies was creating poems for family and friends commemorating various special events. In addition, he spent many hours compling family histories detailing the life stories of his parents and in-laws.
Frank is survived by his stepsons; Jerry (Carol) Chauvin, Richard Chauvin, John Chauvin and Bryan Chauvin; his sister, Mary Ann Benoit SP; brothers, Jim Benoit Sr. Larry (Waldene) Benoit and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his beloved Jane of 45 years; his parents; brothers, Fred, Don, Harry and Gene; sisters Agnes, Helen, Elizabeth and Florence; and stepson, Robert A. Chauvin.
The family would like to thank the doctors & staff at Memorial Hospital and Cottage in the Meadow for their compassion and excellent care of Frank.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a time of Celebration of Frank’s Life well lived at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 1st at Holy Family Chapel with a Military Honors burial following at Calvary Cemetery.
