

Our beloved mother, Gen Duffield, 101, went to join our Lord and all her family and friends that live in Heaven. She passed on August 17, 2010 at 12:20 a.m. with several of her family members at her side. She passed very peacefully.
Gen was born October 4, 1908, in Golva, North Dakota to J.P. and Mary (Bares) Thill. She was raised and educated in Golva. Gen visited her sister, Margie in 1933 in Selah where she met Kenneth E. Duffield. They were married on April 18, 1936 at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Yakima. She had lived in Moxee for 74 years.
Gen was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Ladies of St. Anne and a long time choir member. She was also a former member of the Sun Bonnet Club, the Terrace Heights Grange, Women of the Moose and the Wenamona Camper Club. She was a cook at Holy Rosary School for seven years. Gen spent many years working on the East Valley election board and loved seeing old friends and meeting new people. She was a loving person who enjoyed social outings and family gatherings. She kept up with the activities of her much loved grand and great grandchildren.
Gen is survived by her husband of 74 years, Kenneth Duffield of Moxee; two daughters, Marilou (Robert) Mozingo of Yakima and Charleen (Bill) Heinson of Moxee; a son, Dale (Rose) Duffield of Marysville; eleven grandchildren, Larry Mozingo, Pam Bernhardt, Tami Bigby, Ken Mozingo, Nicole Mozingo, Bill Heinson II, Jennifer Hurst, Dale Duffield, Jr., David Duffield, Desiree Hulse, and DeeAnna Duffield; and fifteen great grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters, Margie Duffield of California, and Frances Kress and Ruth Barnaby, both of North Dakota; and one brother, Marvin Thill of Texas.
Gen was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. and Mary Thill; four brothers, Ed Thill, Lawrence Thill, Leonard Thill, and Clarence Thill; and two sisters, Barbara Larson and Lillian Kukowski.
A Vigil Service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Moxee. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Moxee or Yakima Valley Memorial Hospice, in care of Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
