

Genevieve was born in Portland, Oregon on March 13, 1923 to Michael and Mary (Czapiewski) Rataezyk. She was the youngest of nine siblings including her twin sister Josephine.
She attended the Oregon School for the Deaf until her family moved to Ellensburg, WA in 1933. She graduated from the Washington School for the Deaf in 1943 and was a longtime member of the Washington School for the Deaf Alumni Association. She worked in a plywood mill, laundry and a shoe factory then became a housewife and homemaker.
She married Harold R. Park in 1950 and had a son, Michael A. Park. She married Cleophas J. Godin in 1965 and had two children, Scott and Candice. She lived her life, raising her children from Biddeford, ME to Prosser, WA, then moved to Aloha, OR to be closer to her sisters, Josephine and Sophia. Genevieve then moved to Puyallup, WA in 1998 then to Yakima, WA in 2005.
She is survived by her children Michael Park and his wife, Linda of North Windham, ME, Scott Godin and his wife, Rhonda of Tacoma, WA and Candice (Godin) Risley and her husband Wayne of Naches, WA, sister-in-law, Frieda (Casmier) Rataezyk and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary Rataezyk, her husband, Cleophas J. Godin, brothers Wallace, Casmier, Harry and wife Stella, Alie, Frank and wife Leona, sisters Gertrude (Rataezyk) Aston and husband Ray, Sophia Rataezyk and Josephine (Rataezyk) Graham.
