George's passion for life, sales, and teaching taught us all so much...for me it was while he was Director of Development at Sleep Country USA. He will be missed, but fortunately George will live on in all of us wherever we go!

I first met George when we were 11 yrs old, Boy Scouts Troop #1. We quickly formed the skunk patrol, led by Georges brother Phil. I got my cooking merit badge in their back yard. We were a bit mischievious to say the least, and that was just the tip of the iceburg for Boy Scouts. Next thing i know George is teaching advanced math at Franklin Jr. High, at Davis High there was more of the same and the fun was just begining. We were experts at skipping school, going to Georges house, and floating the river. Going places we shouldn't and harrassing our friends at other schools including Ike and Selah.Riding the jet from Selah, we all graduated. George moving to Ike at the end of the year and later going to central, where he tried to become a careeer student, did pretty well i recall. We all loved to dance, George doing the naked gator was the norm along with hanging naked from the rafters at the warehouse. We always had lots of fun and never hurtful, but always playful. We always thought our "crows feet" evolved from all our laughter through the years, a true friend missed already. When we turned 40 we started GFY, floating the Yakima was never so good. Tradition that was kept for 21 yrs, unfortinatly without George. George gave my son James his first car-the regal, and also taught him how to water ski. I can still hear mom saying "Oh George"!, what great memories.Orgy Georgie you are missed-loved you like a brother.

I first met George in high school, probably at the Freezer on the Ave with George out front planning everyone’s evening. We lived with Dan Meckler after high school, worked at Boeing and went to college. We had many long discussions late at night about the issues of the 60’s. I found it best to change the subject if it began to get heated because you wouldn’t be allowed to go to bed until George won the debate. I learned to watch my plate at dinner or I would lose a pork chop. We were the amusement of the Safeway store next door as we shopped once a week and our cart was full of Banquet TV dinners when they were 10 for a dollar (Swanson if someone had worked overtime) and two loaves of bread. It was the time George got his first new car, the Chevelle. It was the only car that GM ever made with auto pilot. It must have had it, there was many a morning we got up and couldn’t remember how we got there. So many, many memories that will never go away George. I think most of the lyrics of James Taylor’s “You’ve got a Friend” are appropriate here, both ways, not just for me but many people.

George,

What an amazing character you are… I have so many amazing memories of you. I can’t remember a dull moment whenever you were around. You would always be dancing, singing and putting a smile on all our faces with stories. You let me since I was little girl sing the “Georgie Porgie” song and because I didn’t know all the words, you would chime in. My fondest memory was at your 40th Birthday Party up north, I was too young to have a drink but you gave me an unopened Corona bottle and told me to keep it until I was old enough. But after 21 years, I never opened it and I always had that bottle on display wherever I lived. It’s at peace now with you, because if you saw it you would laugh and tell me, “Don’t you drink that…get something that looks like beer” because George this Corona isn’t orange anymore, it’s brown.  

You were an amazing friend to my parents, my family and I’m proud you let me call you “Uncle”, you will be greatly missed. But you are at peace now and I’m sure you are with my dad having a good ole time while looking down at the daughter, mother and wife I’ve become.

george and myself where friends in high school.I would pick him up and we drive to davis hi,usually talking about cars,girls and sports.on weekends we liked to watch his brother ,phillip drag race his 1950 olds rocket 88.Another weekend took us to Ellensburg to visit a student P.E. teacher we knew .George and I went on a fabulous ride in his red 1957 chevy rag top.We had some really great times.Long Live The 60,s. George will be missed,rest in peace my friend.Remember we all just passing through.

George was one of my closest childhood friends.  He was very bright, always had a smile on his face and was a bit mischievous, too, a combination that made for some very fun times.  All my memories of George are fond ones.

I always remembered George from high school/college and he always made a positive impression on me.  I was very shocked to hear that he had passed. You have my condolences.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss.  The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

Our hearts are filled with loving memories.  You will not be forgotten.  We love you George
