Isaac Benjamin Maldonado passed away peacefully to be with God at 5:05 a.m. on February 21, 2018, at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving parents, Luis and Carmelita Maldonado, and left the world knowing he was loved by his mother, father, sisters, and brother-in-law. Isaac was born in Watsonville, California on September 19, 1985. He was 32 years old.
Isaac was a loving son. He had a good heart and no matter what he was suffering through, he was never bitter. He always wanted to share and give to others. He is now without pain and in the presence of our Loving God.
Isaac enjoyed doing many things. He liked fishing, camping, and working for Colonial Lawn and Garden. When it came to the subject of history, Isaac knew it all like the back of his hand. He was able to give the where, why, what, when, who, and the how of various events that happened around the world. He was as sharp as a tack. Yes, he was the one you would want on your team for Trivial Pursuit.
Isaac offered to help out when he could. He thought about others more than himself. When it came to a barbecue, he was the best at prepping and cooking on the grill. You name it, he could BBQ it. From Angus beef to zucchini-onion-pepper kabobs; all done with a smile on his face and a great punchline to a joke or two.
The name Isaac means “laughter” and he embodied that. It was God’s way of giving those he encountered the tangible evidence that yes, God does have a sense of humor and most of all, God is good.
He is survived by his parents, Luis and Carmelita Maldonado; three sisters, Maria Elena Maldonado, Margaret Olivia Garner (David) and Ruth Eileen Maldonado.
