Mr. Carlson was born in Portland. He worked in the fruit industry and nurseries in the valley for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Carlson and Jimmy Carlson, both of Yakima; three daughters, Melinda Mowery and Brenda Mowery, both of Yakima and Belinda Ortega of Wapato; one brother, Harold Carlson of Seattle; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
No formal services will be held at this time. Arrangements are by Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
