

Jim graduated from Marquette High School in 1952. He was employed by Mort’s Mobile Service in his early years and Mercy Brothers.
Jim married his high school sweetheart Marie J. McFall on August 9, 1952, in Yakima. Shortly afterward they moved to California where their first child Bonita Marie (Curt) Geise was born on August 28, 1953 in Downing, California. They returned to Yakima in 1954 where James David Sanderson was born on December 17, 1956, Annabelle Rae (Brian) Pickering on April 18, 1958 and Barbara Lynn (Eddie) Gulley on September 12, 1961.
They have 9 grandchildren, Clinton & Daniel Geise, Jimmy Sanderson, Carly & Hannah Shattuck, and Eddie, Dillon, Marcial, and Sophia Gulley. Jim was employed by the family business, Sanderson Plumbing and Heating, which was founded in 1945 by James George Washington Sanderson. The business was purchased in 1953 by Jim’s father James Edward Sanderson. In 1971 Jim purchased Sanderson Plumbing from his father and in 1997 Jim retired and the business was sold to his son James David Sanderson.
Jim had a great passion for NHRA car racing. He was an NHRA class record holder in 1964-65. He continued his love for muscle cars through out his life, restoring many 1957 Chevrolets as well as Ford Model A’s. Jim was highly recognized for his quality of workmanship and attention to detail on all of his car restorations.
Jim also enjoyed many years of camping, hunting and motorcycle riding on Chinook Pass in the Little Naches Area.
Jim’s wife Marie will be unable to attend his service due to an injury. A celebration of life is being planned at a later date, when Marie will be able to attend.
James is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Eddie James Gulley III.
