

Janet Joy (Voelker) Wingerter passed away at Harborview Medical Center on April 1st 2017. She was surrounded by her family at her side. Janet was born on July 6th, 1944 to Cecil and Hester Voelker of Yakima. She graduated from Davis High School, class of 1962. In 1963 Janet married Conrad Wingerter at Saint Paul Cathedral.
Janet worked at the Penny Press Publications for many years and retired from Keith & Keith Funeral Home in 2010.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Conrad Wingerter. Three children Scott (Pam) Wingerter, Jodi (David) Trimble, Greg (Amy) Wingerter all from Yakima. Janet's joy of her life was her grandchildren and great grandson! Brandi Butterfield, Marjorie Wingerter, Cassandra Wingerter, Erinn Gallagher, David Trimble Jr, Allison Wingerter and her great grandson Jameson Butterfield. One brother John (Frankie) Voelker of Yakima, two sisters Joyce Abreau of Cheyenne WY, Janice Smith of Turlock CA and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Hester Voelker, two brothers James and Joseph Voelker. One sister in-law Gayle Wingerter, two nieces: Zoe Lair and Nancy Rew; two nephews Jeff Kokenge and David McDonald.
Janet's number one priority in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson! Janet loved children; she gave to several charities that involved children.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harborview Medical Center for the excellent care she received in her final days. Also, a very special Thanks to Gary and Ann Beuchler & Family, (Seattle Connection) for always being there in our time of need.
Rosary will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at St. Paul Cathedral.
