Janice Barbara Sherry, 61, of Yakima, WA, passed away on September 29, 2018 after a hard two-year battle with numerous health problems. She was born on October 26, 1956 in Moscow, ID and graduated from Eisenhower High School in Yakima, WA, class of 1975.
Janice is survived by her husband, James A. Sherry of Yakima, sister, Vicky Dahmen (Jones) Of Arkansas, son, Joseph S. Sherry (Maria C. Sherry) of Yakima, daughter, Jill M. Deatherage (Chris M. Deatherage) of Selah, and three grandchildren, Shane C. Deatherage, Jeremiah S. Sherry, and Abbigail C. Sherry. She is preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Dahmen (Markstallar).
Janice enjoyed painting, drawing, and astronomy. She loved puppies and watching the Food Network. Janice was a diehard Seahawks fan (not a 12th man)! She was a Mariners fan too and enjoyed watching the games with her husband and friends at the Little Dutch Inn during both seasons. Janice always made time for a milkshake too.
Her husband had a few words of his own: To lose you was a bitter wrench. The pain cut to my core. I cried until my tears ran out and then I cried some more. I know I can’t be with you now and you be with me. But safe inside my heart you’ll stay and that’s where you’ll always be.
From Janice’s children: What can we say about our mother, she was a tough spirit and a hard fighter. She was a great mother, a friend, and a good listener. She was never afraid to speak her mind. She was a loving and beautiful person and will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
A memorial service is planned Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA.
