She had 6 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her sisters and her parents. She is survived by her brothers Clifton (Hutch) Hutchings and Westin Barry Hutchings. She also left behind a husband Sidney Dobbs, two children Teresa Fiedler and Steve (Julie) Dobbs. Grandchildren Ryan (Katie) Fiedler, Matt (Brittany) Fiedler, Colton (Krystle) Fiedler, Skyler Dobbs, & Alexa Dobbs, and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lela Katheryn McDonald.
Her siblings all looked up to their oldest sister. Jeanette, being the oldest, did a lot of babysitting for her parents. Her brother Hutch fondly recalls growing up in Utah and their older sister Jeanette would take her younger siblings to the movie theater, which was something they all really looked forward to. They had the usual sibling rivalries, but they also had a lot of respect for her. Jeanette was the one they all went to when something came up that had to do with the family. She was always the consummate caretaker - when one of the siblings needed help or a shoulder to lean on, she was there with a kind and dependable presence.
Jeanette met Sid, the love of her life, in Sacramento in 1960 and married him 4 months later. They were married 60 years. During those years they moved a lot, seeing all parts of the country and some overseas locations, but eventually settled in Washington. They had a good life, always on the go. Together Jeanette and Sid enjoyed motorcycle trips, dancing, bowling, movies and the occasional BBQ. During their marriage Sid worked hard and Jeanette was always by his side, arguably working harder. When he started his own business in the construction trade she was literally beside him helping working on the job site, scraping the floors, going to the dump, towing the rig, as well as keeping the books. At the end of the day, she would make the meal, do the laundry or whatever needed to be done for the household. Everyone was amazed at all she did, but she enjoyed helping support her husband and her family, and always did so with a positive attitude.
When they retired, they became snowbirds for a few years – travelling between Washington and Arizona as they wished, then ultimately stayed permanently in Arizona. There, they made a lot of new friends. Mom seemed to be the one they gathered to. She just had this presence about her that seemed to attract people to her. She enjoyed card games, movies, potlucks, shopping trips, and just good company. Jeanette also got to enjoy a change in roles within the household, and relax for a change while her loving husband took over and treated her with care and as much pampering as he could. They enjoyed their time in Arizona and being closer to Steve and his family.
Jeanette was a very devoted mother who lived for her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. Her family was everything to her, and she was everything to them. Jeanette passed away at her home, supported by her loving family, and she will be always remembered for her kind soul, her infections personality, and her love for others.
The family would like to thank all those who assisted in serving the family.
