Born on November 7, 1940, in Pyatt, Arkansas, Jerry moved to Washington where he graduated from West Valley High School and attended Yakima Valley College. He soon began what would become a lifelong career in the railroad industry, working with Union Pacific Railroad, then moving into management with Yakima Valley Transportation, and ultimately retiring from the City of Prineville Railway.
Jerry married the love of his life, Diane Shields, and together they settled in Selah, WA, where they raised a beautiful family and built a remarkable life over 64 years of marriage. Their bond was one of rare devotion, always seen holding hands, laughing, and smiling at each other. They were truly each other's person.
Jerry was the proud father of four daughters: Janet (Kevin) McKay, Lisa (Dick) Waldman, Sheryl (Rob) Archer, and Jennifer (Ryan) Redmon. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Splint Price and Rae Gilley; his brother JR Price; and sister Carolyn St. Mary.
A quiet man with a quick and witty sense of humor, Jerry had a heart as big as they come. He was a steadfast supporter of his daughters and grandchildren, never missing a game, recital, or event. If you looked to the stands, you’d always find Jerry there, cheering, smiling, and full of pride.
Jerry had a lifelong love for horses, rodeos, and time spent outdoors fishing. He cherished telling stories from his younger days, watching sports on TV, and caring for Diane with a selfless love that defined his character.
His presence in our lives was a gift, and the legacy of love, strength, and laughter he leaves behind will be cherished forever. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him. To leave a memory for the family please visit lepfuneralhome.com.
