

YAKIMA - John Howard Rainey, age 61, passed away on Friday June 21, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in San Bernardino, Calif. to Warren and Gladys (Courtney) Rainey on Dec. 25, 1951. John graduated from Pacific High School in 1970. He then continued his education at the University of Calif. with a degree in education. John moved to Port Angeles, Washington in late 1985.
He met Linda Iiams in the spring of 1987 and they were married October 31, 1987 in Port Angeles, Washington, where they resided until 1993. While living in Port Angeles John worked for an insulation company. They then moved to the Yakima Valley for a job opportunity. Until the time of his passing John was employed by King Beverage as a Merchandiser.
John loved to read, listen to music, travel, and spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren. John also enjoyed being a member of the Yakivegas PT Cruiser Club, attending many car shows and cruises with other club members. John had a talent for making memories and traditions with family and friends.
He is survived by wife: Linda Rainey of Yakima, daughters: Shannon Dove of Yakima, Stephanie (Gordon) Olson of Yakima, son: Roy (Robin) Dove JR. of Weiser, Idaho, father and mother: Warren and Gladys Rainey of Loma Linda, California, sisters: Kathy (Chuck) Hamilton of Des Moines, Wa., Karen (John) Hawker of Huntington Beach, Ca., grandson: Trevor Dove and granddaughters: Trinna and Sumer Hugill, Julie, Taylor and Kaylah Dove, nieces: Nicole and Katrina Hamilton, nephews: Jason and Ivan Hawker.
