

Ken went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday, February 4, 2013. Ken was born in Yakima on January 16, 1927. Attending Mt Adams schools, Ken stayed remained in the lower valley most of his life. He married Myrtle Alexander of Zillah on July 20, 1947. They farmed in the Harrah area until 1969, teaching their 5 boys the pleasures and rewards of hard work on the farm. Ken was always a farmer. After retirement, he would rise a little later, but still tended to his garden and flowers until his passing. Ken was an avid bowler. Staying busy after his retirement, he never understood how he had the time to work before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Sue (Johnston) of Yakima, brothers Cecil (Juanita) and Gerald all of Yakima, sons Stanley (Sandy) of Prior Lake, MN, Paul (Rachel) of Yakima, Kevin (Cheryl) of Yakima, Rodney (Hope) of Yakima and Dave (Susan) of Spokane, 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle in 1979, father Thornton in 1940, Mother Hazel in 1984, sister Lucille and her husband Leonard.
After meeting Ken, everyone would say, "he is such a character". He was a character Up to his departure from this earth.
