

He served as a Corporal in the Army and was a cook for his platoon during the Korean War. Leonard moved to Yakima, Washington in the early 1950’s, where he had five children, John, Janice, Joan, Jim, and Joe, with Regina Heier (Berger).
Leonard was the owner of Mead Body Shop and enjoyed collecting and restoring classic cars. Leonard was preceded in death by his son John in 2004; his brothers: Peter, Julius, and Rainer; and his sisters: Magdalena, Helen, and Leonita (Leonard’s twin).
He is survived by his siblings: Erwin, Anthony, William, Leo, Timothy, and Emma; his daughters: Janice and Joan; his sons: Jim and Joe; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his long-time companion Waneta Reynolds.
Services for Leonard will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, at 10:30 am, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yakima.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery at 1 pm.
