

Born on June 28, 1936 in Grand Junction, Co to Louis Bauman and Clara Kaufman. LeRoy married Frances Ann Stricklan in August of 1962. Together they raised 2 sons, Randy and Mike. LeRoy worked as a TV and radio repair technician in Saint Maries, ID where he was president of the Kiwanis Club and an active leader with the local Boy Scouts. He served as Cub Master of Pack 42, Scoutmaster of Troop 442 as well as a member of the District Committee. He was honored for his years of service with the District Award of Merit as well as the Silver Beaver Award.
LeRoy served in the Navy for four years and the Washington Air National Guard, retiring from the Air National Guard after 20 years of service.
In 1981 LeRoy moved his family to Selah, Washington to begin his career as a Instrument Technician at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. He remained an active Scout leader, serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 275 as well as the local District Committee. LeRoy retired from Hanford in 1996.
LeRoy was devoted to his family, always having time to help them with projects or whatever they needed and willing to go fishing or hunting with them at the drop of a hat! His grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
He came to know the Lord later in life and was baptized in 1998. He has been a regular attendee at West Valley Church for the last 14 years.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Leo and Lillian. LeRoy is survived by his wife Frances, sons Randy and Mike, daughters-in-law Tracy and Tanya, and grandchildren Rebecca and Jonathan.
A funeral service for LeRoy will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. A reception will follow at the Sun Country Estates clubhouse, 3701 Gun Club Rd, Yakima, WA 98901. A graveside service with full military honors will occur Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA 99022. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Yakima VFW.
