Lila Mae Thomson

Lila Mae Thomson (89), beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on March 25, 1936, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Ann Haney and Leo Carr.

Lila was predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond William Thomson Jr.; her parents, Ann and Leo; and her grandson, James Ray Proud, and her beloved Pug Barney.

She is survived by her children: Raymond Thomson III (Sandie Sholten) of Rainier, Oregon; Robert Thomson (Kathy Healy Thomson) of Vero Beach, Florida; and Laurie Haskins (Gerald Haskins) of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Lila also leaves behind six grandchildren—Tyer Thomson, Mark Thomson, Kandis Ege, Kaity Thomson, Michael Thomson, and Marlaina Haskins—and eight cherished great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Lila and her husband, Raymond, both graduated from Yakima High School. Over the years, Lila enjoyed a fulfilling career, holding administrative positions at Darigold in Yakima then Franklin Junior High School, and later concluding her career with Wells Fargo Bank in Portland, Oregon.

Lila loved spending time with her family, which was the greatest joy of her life. Many of her happiest memories were made on family vacations salmon fishing in Sekiu with her husband, children, and in-laws. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, especially her trips to Europe with close friends—and cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved most.

Lila will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. Her generous spirit and deep love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima, Washington, on October 25th, followed by a reception at a location to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Lila’s memory by spending time with loved ones and sharing kindness with others, just as she always did.
