Angel Boy Luth Patrick Kinley Garcia

SELAH - Luth Patrick Garcia, 12, passed away in Selah, WA on February 5, 2009 with his mother at his side. He was born on April 8, 1996 to Breezi (Kinley) Elyea and Orlando Garcia in Seattle, WA at Swedish Hospital.

Luth was born to a young mother who never perceived her son as a "special needs" child, only as a "special" child. Luth was sent as an angel with Hydranencephaly, a condition that left him without a brain. Luth brought joy to all who knew him. His bright eyes and extremely long eye lashes drew others to him. He loved listening to his Papa Jerry play the harmonica and would often "sing" along at the top of his lungs. Luth enjoyed going to school at John Campbell Elementary and Selah Intermediate School, and hanging out on his bean bag chair with his classmates and teachers. Another favorite activity was attending sporting events. The noisier the crowd, the better!

His great-grandma Kilpatrick has a voice he always responded to and so does his sister, Charlee. He loved kisses from everyone (especially his Mom), warm baths, music (his Dad singing), being outside and long rides in the car. Some of his most peaceful moments were in the rocking chair with his Grandma Patty.

Luth is survived by his mother, Breezi (John) Elyea, sister, Charlee Elyea; grandparents, Jerry Maggard, Bill & Jeanne Elyea; father, Orlando (Lisa) Garcia, step-siblings, Manuel, Ruben and Ashley; grandparents, Oswaldo and Jennie Garcia. great-grandmothers, Naomi Kilpatrick and Barbara Saiz.; also, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Luth was preceded in death by his uncle, Jeffry Meloy; grandfather, Paul Kinley; grandmother, Patty Maggard and most recently his great-grandmother, Joyce Kinley.

Breezi would like to thank the staff of Yakima Regional Hospice, Dr. Roy J. Simms of Yakima Pediatrics, Nancy Barnes of Memorial Infusion Care, the staff at Howard's Drug in Selah, the staff of Children's Village and Keith & Keith Funeral Home.

A viewing will be held at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel on Sunday, February 8, 2009 from noon to 7p.m. A Celebration of Luth's Life will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Selah at 10 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2009. Concluding services and burial will follow in the Naches Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children's Village in memory of Luth Garcia.
