Mary Jean Casey

Mary graduated from Yakima High School with the class of 1949. In 1952, she married Ewell Casey. They settled in Tieton where they operated an apple and pear farm until Ewell’s death in 1998. She also worked as a Telephone Operator at Hanford, a Librarian for the Yakima Regional Library in Tieton and volunteered as a Camp Fire Girls Leader.

In 2014, Mary moved into the Sun Tower Senior Apartments where she enjoyed making new friends and participating in all the social activities. Mary will be missed by her loving family and her many friends in Yakima, Tieton and Cowiche areas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ewell, parents Carl and Mary, brother Don Thacker and granddaughter Sarah Casey.

Mary is survived by her daughter Diane and husband Henry Blomberg of Sweet Home, OR; son Terry and wife Joanne Casey of Tieton; three grandchildren Kayce Williams, Joseph Blomberg and Christopher Casey; 2 great-grandchildren Jack Williams and Gwendolyn Casey.

At Mary’s request there will be no funeral service. Inurnment will be with her husband Ewell at West Hills Memorial Park.
