

After 90 years of sharing her love and generosity with those around her, M. Patricia Wright left her family and friends to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her husband David A. Wright in heaven. Pat was born June 23, 1921 to Myrtis Ward Walken and Albert C. Walken in Bellingham WA. She left this life February 20, 2012. She was residing at Emerald Care in Wapato. When Pat was three she lost her mother and was raised by her Cherished Grandmother Anna Blanche Shook and her Grandfather Wilbert Shook. Mom's Aunts Gladis Vails, and Ethel Garlarneau were thought of as sisters. She moved to Yakima in 1933. Pat and Dave were married in 1940, and after several decades of marriage, Pat felt blessed to Travel with her husband Dave throughout the United States, and much of Europe. She cherished her family and many friends.
Pat was mostly educated in Yakima, she attended Washington Junior High, and graduated from Yakima High School with the class of 1939 X. It was during this time that she met her husband Dave. After high school Pat attended YVC to achieve her childhood goal of becoming a secretary.
She began her lengthy secretarial career in the medical field, and worked at KIT Radio Station, the Chamber of Commerce, Yakima County Prosecuting Attorneys Office, and the Washington State Department of Agriculture. She was most proud of her time and, accomplishments, at the Prosecutors Office. Throughout the year she belonged to many different organizations: Beta Sigma Phi, National Secretaries Assn. American Business Women, and the Women's Century Club are some. Pat volunteered at many different organizations and found a great deal of satisfaction serving as a Deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Pat is survived by: her sons David Larry Wright, and Thomas Scott Wright (Marcia); Grandsons, Justin Wright (Eva), Jason Wright (Sarah), and Nicholas Wright (Brianne); and four great grandsons; Pat felt a special fondness for her cousin Robert Woodworth Jr. Other surviving cousins are Robert Woodworth Sr. Paulette Moberly, Della Waldbauer, Maureen Bartheld, SueAnn Seward, Pat has a half-brother Don Walken of Creswell OR.
She was preceded in death by her: beloved grand-daughter Shana Wright, her mother and father Myrtis and Albert Walken, grandparents Blanch and Wilbert Shook, Aunts Gladys Vail, Ethel Garlarneau, Anne Gildersleve, and Billie Taylor; and cousin Dorthy Langan, as well as other cousins and relatives too numerous to mention.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Emerald Care Living for the care and quality of life they provided for Patricia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Patricia’s name can go to the Union Gospel Mission in care of Keith & Keith.
