On Friday, May 2, 2014, our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grand daughter was ushered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, after a courageous 4 year battle with brain cancer.
Mileen was born in Yakima on September 16, 1977 and lived in the Yakima Valley most of her life. She graduated from Selah High School in 1996 and went on to graduate from the International Air Academy 5 months later. She worked at AAA Travel Agency as a Travel Consultant for 4 years.
She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Thomas Hoxie. Through this union, they were blessed with their daughter, Tylee Minta on November 9, 2002, then their son, Presscott Michael on February 16, 2005.
She loved big family events, especially Christmas, Thanksgiving and birthdays, the bigger the better. Her love of the outdoors included camping, snowmobiling and fishing. Some of her hobbies included cooking, she was especially known for her chicken enchiladas. She was a active participant in her childrens' life by volunteering as a member of the Booster Club, chaperone for field trips or helping out in the classrooms.
Mileen was an active member of her church. She was eager to provide a helping hand if it was as simple as making meals, assist with the childrens' ministry or taking a bigger role as a MOPS leader.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Hoxie, her daughter Tylee, son Presscott, her parents, Michael and Kathleen Cass, her brother Chris (Kristina) Cass of Houma, LA. Her grandparents Fred and Darlene Green of Yakima, Troy and Barbara Cass of Yakima and her loving extended family of Bill Hoxie, Sandy and Jeff Willhight, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
The family would like to thank Lower Valley Hospice for all they did, especially RN Debbie Graves and Juana for their loving, compassionate care and support. There is also a very special thank you to Mileen's aunt Treasa who came in to help and stand by Mileen's mother in caring for her. We also want to thank the Stone Church family for all they did, providing prayers, encouragement and meals.
Viewing will be on May 8, 2014 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home from 1:00pm – 8:00pm.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00pm at Stone Church in Yakima, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at Banner Bank in Mileen Hoxie's name, to benefit glioblastoma research.
