Mitchell Barclay Hatfield, born February 20, 2007, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 in his father’s arms after a 2 ½ year battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his parents, Chad and Amy Hatfield; his siblings, Jackson and Eden; his grandparents, Dr. Ron and Linda Hatfield (Yakima) and Dan and MaryAnn Barclay (Boise); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-grandparents.
Mitchell was always a very special boy full of love and life. He loved jumping off couches and being loud and crazy. When his cancer affected his mobility, it did not deter him from living a fun and happy life. He continued to joke and be silly trying to improve the happiness of those around him. In stages he lost all control of his body and speech, but continued to smile through it all. He loved his cousins and especially his brother and sister. His best buddy was his daddy.
We are celebrating Mitchell’s life on Saturday, September 8th at an 11am funeral service located at the LDS Stake Center on 702 N. 1st St in Selah, WA. There will be viewing from 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. The family is holding a day of service in his honor on Sept. 15th; go to mitchellsday.org" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">mitchellsday.org for more information. Instead of sending flowers, the family asks you make a donation to mitchellsday.org to be used towards service projects in honor of Mitchell. We love you Mitchell.
