Norma Olivia Hill, 87, went home to Jesus, early morning, September 2, 2019. Norma (Gralfs) Hill, born Norma Olivia Courtney, was one of twelve children born to Charles R. Courtney and Lillian Courtney from Winslow, Arkansas.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband Herb Hill, Her eldest son Darrell Gralfs, her grandson Lewis Bauguess, seven siblings and her late husband George Gralfs.
Norma is survived by five siblings, two sons, George Grahlfs of Naches, WA, Tom Gralfs of Coeur d'Alene, ID, 10. and five daughters, Bobbe Gralfs of Yakima, WA., Margie Prince of Kennewick, WA., Carol Grahlfs of Yakima, WA., Sally Storseth of Selah, WA., Sandi Jankard of Naches WA., and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Norma moved to Washington in approximately 1949 following her eldest sister, Randolyn Kilpatrick of Tieton, WA. Norma raised her eight children in Naches where she proudly inherited her father's green thumb. She so looked forward to each spring when she could plant and maintain her perfect gardens. She had a knack for creativity and was the kind of mom who could do anything, cook anything, and fix everything.
Words cannot describe what a beautiful, kind, caring soul she was. Mother always took time for her family, and unselfishly loved us, regardless of our shortcomings. All her children, nieces and nephews know how fortunate we were to have such a loving mom in our lives, always giving, always thinking of others before herself. She made our childhood a fun experience. Our mom's heart never fully healed after losing her eldest son Darrell to a car accident in 1966 when he was seventeen.
Norma was a devout Christian and long-time member of the Church of Christ. We know without doubt that Jesus wrapped his loving arms around her, lifted her from her pain, loneliness, and worries, and took her home with him where she deserves to be. We are grateful for the extra time we had with her in her last days. Watch over her and bless her Lord. She is precious. Rest easy, sweet angel.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Naches Cemetery with a reception following at the Peace of Christ Church in Naches.
