

Patricia “Patty” McCartney (Brolliar) age 85 passed away at home on Feb. 3rd, 2025 after a short battle with cancer, the same day she shared her 64th wedding anniversary with her husband David McCartney.
Patty was born in Yakima on August 6th 1939 to Patricia and Dale Brolliar. She was the oldest of 3 daughters.
She grew up in the Yakima valley and attended Saint Joseph Academy where she graduated salutatorian of her class in 1957. She later attended Sierra College in California where she studied bookkeeping and accounting, and met the love of her life and future husband David McCartney.
Patty and David were married February 3rd 1961 and shortly after moved to Palo Alto Calif. where they worked together at Philco Corp, a division of Ford Motor Company and decided to start their family.
The first of their two daughters was born August of 1964. Shortly after they moved to the Yakima valley where their second daughter Annie was born in October of 1965.
Patty and Dave worked together with Patty’s parents establishing Roy’s Hardware until 1973 when they bought and successfully ran the store for 35 years until they retired in 2000.
Patty enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, spending time with her children, grand children and great grand children. She was an active member of Holy Family Church where she was a lector and server.
Patty was an avid and talented seamstress an quilter and in her spare time volunteered at Birthright in Yakima which she was very passionate about.
She enjoyed the company of many good friends and was always at the ready with a smile and some good advice or a glass of wine and a shoulder to cry on.
Patty was truly loved by so many. Her kindness and compassion touched many lives, and made us feel like better people for having known her. She will be deeply missed.
Patty is survived by her husband and best friend David McCartney, her daughters Mary McCartney and her husband Rick Savage, Annie McCartney, her Two grandsons Jordan McCartney-Jackson and his wife Sarah, Benjamin Britz, and his wife Katie, and her four great grand children Lil’ Jordan McCartney and Zaiden Jackson, Max and Eloise Britz.
Services will be held on Friday February 14th, 2025 at Holy Family Church at 10:00 am.
Food and drinks will be served after the service in the church gathering hall.
