Paulette Mary (Powers) Banning, 62, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025. She was born on April 2, 1962, in Yakima, WA, to Robert and Maxine Powers, and was the youngest of eight children. Paulette graduated from AC Davis High School in 1980 and went on to graduate from Yakima Valley College, and then attended Central Washington University. After college, she worked primarily in retail, which was a good fit for her outgoing personality.
Paulette married the love of her life, CJ (Craig Joseph) Banning, on September 9, 1989, and they spent happy years together living in the home they purchased in Yakima. As avid Disney fans, they enjoyed many trips to Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as Disney cruises, and made many close friends along the way.
Paulette enjoyed crafting, beadwork, home decorating, swimming, family genealogy, and her beloved cats. She also enjoyed singing, and was in the choir in high school. Outgoing, creative and a good cook, Paulette proved to be an excellent hostess and enjoyed arranging get-togethers for family and friends. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile and laughter.
Paulette is survived by her husband, CJ Banning, brothers Rick (Julie) Powers and Craig (Sjohn Jepsen) Powers, and sisters Kathy Addington, Wendy Nash, and Julie Powers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gene (Linda) Powers, and her sister, Sally Powers.
A memorial and celebration of life will be Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 12pm at Yakima Valley Community Church, 7901 W Nob Hill Blvd. Yakima, WA 98908.
