

Ray Owen of Yakima passed away at Cottage in the Meadow on February 10, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. He was born March 23, 1936 in Joplin, MO to Eugene and Mary Owen. Ray was the youngest of eight children.
His family moved to Yakima when he was 10 years old and he attended Yakima High School. After high school he spent 4 years in the US Navy as an engineer on the USS Terrell County.
He married Carol Hamblen in 1958, they had 4 daughters. In 1978 Ray married Patricia Russell.
He worked at FMC/Agri-Tech for 41 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed camping, car racing, waterskiing and dirt bikes in his younger years. Ray also enjoyed family gatherings, computer games and playing golf on the Wii, but most of all he loved his family. Ray was outgoing and would do anything for anyone.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Owen; children, Brenda Zahler (Curt), Linda Robinson (Gary), Cheryl Owen, Janice Owen (Harley), Paulette Lazzari and Eugene Russell (Joyel); 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and all 7 siblings.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16th at Rainier Memorial Center with burial following at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
