Regina was born April 30, 1917, at Fallon, North Dakota, to Sebastian and Margaret (Fiest) Schneider. She lived in North Dakota and married Markus Ralph Berger on January 12, 1937.
They moved to Yakima in the early 1940’s. Mom was a longtime member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and for several years was a housekeeper for the parish priests. In her later years she was a member of St. Theresa’s Guild.
Mom spent fifty years as an Eagles Lodge member, was active on the Eagles Drill Team and was Eagles Auxiliary President and past Madam President.
Mom’s number one priority was her family. Her final years were spent praying for the world and her loved ones, and spending time with her ever growing family. She could be seen regularly at the special occasions of her great grandchildren who lived nearby, and was so pleased whenever her grandchildren from out of town would bring their families to see her.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph (Lois) Berger of Selah, and Ron Berger and Duane (Carol) Berger, all of Yakima; two daughters, Dorothy Pratt and Karen (Larry) Miller, all of Yakima; a sister, Betty Ruhl of Western Washington; 18 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
Mom will be greatly missed.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Markus Berger on February 4, 2006; six sisters, three brothers and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010, at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
