Our beloved Husband, Son, Brother, Father and Papa was surrounded by his family as he went to be with Jesus on December 23, 2016. Mick was born to Jack and Betty Duncan in Yakima, Washington on May 6, 1950 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He never met a stranger. People who met him left learning either a new recipe, history fact, or random piece of information. He was a man who loved his family and friends, especially his 3 grandsons Bryon, Brenden and Keegan. They meant the world to him.
Mick loved to spend his time working out in his shop making things for his family and friends. He searched the internet for ideas on what to make next. He retired in 2013 after 23 years working for International Paper (Weyerhaeuser). He would travel back East every two years to see Family, and visit new places. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam era. He served from 1974 to 1977.
He leaves behind his Mother Betty Duncan of Zillah, Sister Deb Barrett and her husband Doug of Yakima, and his wife Judy of Yakima. His daughter Nicole Fasano and her son Byron 14 of Yakima. His son Jim Fasano Jr. and Wife Christina, their children Brenden 11 and Keegan 9 of Johns Creek, Georgia. His sons James Duncan of Seattle, and Shawn Duncan of Yakima. Along with a lot of Sisters and Brother-In-Laws, Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews. Two Aunts Terry Duncan of Seattle and Sue Wetmore of Yakima. Also Nate and Marina Britt of Yakima, who he considered his kids. Too many special friends and neighbors to mention.
A very special Thank You to Cindy Byrne of Cornerstone Medicine. She was our advocate, our cheerleader, and our friend. We would like to extend our appreciation to all the Nurses and Doctors at Virginia Mason Yakima (2nd Floor and ICU) and Seattle (17th Floor). To Paulette and Bob Brown, my Sister and Brother-In-Law Rose and Chuck Withrow who have been by my side theses last 29 days, and all my Prayer warriors, too many to name, but you know who you are.
He was preceded in death by his Father Jack Duncan, his grandson Jonathon Fasano, and Father-In-Law Joe Booi.
In honor of Mick please come causal. Wear your favorite Husky, Cougar or Seahawk shirt.
In lieu of flowers please donate to North Star, Human Society of Yakima, or to your favorite charity.
