Ruben Barrera-Teran

Ruben Barrera was born in Coatepec Costales, Guerrero in Mexico on March 3.1933.

Ruben is survived by all his children and their spouses and his only brother- Eustaquio Barrera.

Oldest son- Agustin Barrera ( Celia Barrera), Gorgonio Barrera( Celia Dimas) , Felipe Barrera (Josephine Barrera) and only daughter, Esperanza “Marina” Dominguez

( Macedonio Dominguez).

He is now reunited once again with the love of his life- Isabel Aranda Barrera who suddenly passed away in January 2017.

He met the love of his life- Isabel Adelaidia Aranda and they married on 10/01/1950. They had 4 kids, 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and lastly 8 great great grandchildren.

Together they would work in the agricultural fields , raised cows while in Mexico and sold homemade ice cream and ice blocks. They moved to the United States in 1984.

Again, together they worked very hard in the Yakima Valley at Snokist and in agricultural fields all year round for 15 years.

In 2006, Ruben and his wife Isabel proudly became US Citizens.

Ruben loved watching wrestling, boxing ,novelas and action type shows . He also loved gardening, planting vegetables and being outside as much as possible. Most importantly, he loved living a simple life and being around his family.

Both Ruben and Isabel showed the “Barrera Family “ the importance of family. He will be greatly missed by all ,as he was a great husband, father, grandfather and uncle.

Their legacy will live on forever in the families hearts. He will be laid to rest with his wife - Isabel and they will be together once and for all!

A visitation for Ruben will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home, 1010 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902.
