

Ruby Rita Riedel, age 77, passed away peacefully in Yakima, WA on June 29, 2014. Ruby was born on July 31, 1936 in Billings, Montana to Raymond and Rachel Agbisit and was the second eldest of seven siblings.
She lived and attended schools in Zillah and Wapato, WA and was a member of the Filipino Junior Club. Ruby graduated from Wapato High School in 1955 and was very proud to be the class speaker.
In her early years, Ruby worked at Libby's Cannery and Chinook. She married Alex Hernandez Sr. and had three children. On April 6, 1981, she started working as a WISHA Consultant for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries until retirement on December 31, 1996. She married Ray Riedel in 1984. After retirement, Ruby found herself working as a paraprofessional at McClure Elementary School for a few years.
Ruby enjoyed weekend camping trips, cooking, traveling, decorating Faberge eggs, spending time with family and friends, and loved her flowers. She had a big heart and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Ruby was loved and admired by many for her generous disposition, cheerful enjoyment of life, and her readiness to lend a helping hand. Her enduring feature of kindness towards others will serve as an example to the rest of us.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Rachel Agbisit, brother, Jesus George Agbisit, and husband, Ray Riedel. She is survived by daughter, Gina Vickers, daughter, Nancy Hernandez-Newman, and son, Alex Hernandez Jr. (Cindy); six siblings, Joe (Jean) Agbisit, Flora Agbisit, Marion (Olivia) Agbisit, George (Lupe) Agbisit, Mary (John) Rice, and Elizabeth (Ray) Perez; seven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2014 with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church with concluding services following at Reservation Community Memorial Park in Wapato.
