Sandra Sue Coats

Sandra was born Nov. 24, 1942 in Prineville, OR to Frank and Jewell (Hudspeth) Cofmann.

She worked for Safeway as a meat wrapper for many years until her health forced her to retire early in 1999. In her younger years she was a member of American Quarter horse Association and loved riding her horse Lady. She was an avid gardener, loved sewing and knitting. After retirement she became a member of Grace of Christ Church and spent many hours volunteering in the Connection center. Sandra also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center teaching computer classes and playing her favorite card game, pinochle.

Sandra is survived by her 3 children and their spouses: Becky ( Brett) Bonde of Calgary AB, Tim ( Gina) Coats and Steve (Mindy) Coats of Yakima; 11 grandchildren: Mahri, Kaerli and Erika Bonde of Calgary AB, Daniel (Amy) Coats, Brittany (Michael) Geho, David, Andrew, Elizabeth, Emily, Tyler, Becca Coats all of Yakima; 2 great grandchildren, Hannah and Ethan Coats of Yakima; 2 sisters, Sharon (Larry) Hadley of Whitefish, MT and Josephine (Patrick) Ferons of Denver, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Beverly Rhinehardt.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Crescent Place for becoming part of Sandy’s family of the past 2 years.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday April 22nd, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Grace of Christ Church with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donation be made to the Mindy Coats Kidney transplant fund in care of Keith and Keith Funeral home or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
