Sandra Lee Northcott, lovingly known as Alexandra to many, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 80, while recovering at Landmark Care & Rehabilitation in Yakima, Washington. She was surrounded by her husband, Robert, and youngest son, Justin.
Sandra was born June 11, 1945, at Everett Hospital in Everett, Washington, to Nick Cottis and Anna Gaboury. Raised in Rhode Island, she graduated from high school in 1963 and began working for the Providence Phone Company. On a serendipitous layover flight in New York, she met the love of her life, Robert Northcott. They married and built a life full of creativity, laughter, and love, raising two sons: Mark and Justin. A devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, Sandra filled every home—from Quincy, WA; Idaho Falls, ID; Bellevue, WA; to Portland, OR; to Ridgefield, WA; and then Cowiche, WA with beauty, warmth, and heart. She was a talented painter and vocalist, with a spirit that uplifted everyone she met. Whether you knew her for a minute or a lifetime, she made you feel seen, heard, and welcomed. Sandra never knew a stranger—only friends waiting to be made.
She was the heart of her family and the soul of many friendships. Sandra's love, creativity, and compassion live on in her husband Robert; sons Mark (Stephanie) and Justin; grandchildren Bree, Chance, Ryker, Harper, and Christopher, her brother Doug Cottis and family; and all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and light. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on August 16, 2025, at The American Legion, 1120 N. 34th Ave., Yakima, WA. Arrangements are being handled by Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home.
Sandra taught us all how to love generously, laugh freely, and live with faith. She will be missed beyond measure—and remembered with joy. Comments and remarks may be posted on the Langevin Funeral Home Website link provided.
