

Stanley Raymond Schmick (88) passed away at Memorial Hospital on April 4, 2026, after complications from a fall. He was surrounded by family and went on to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born to Bryron C. Schmick and Esther (Morash) Schmick on November 25, 1937, at the farmhouse in Endicott WA. He attended Endicott public schools. Being a small farm community and school, Stan was involved in all aspects of school government, sports, FFA, Band and school plays. There were 11 students in his graduating class from Endicott High School, class of 1956. He then attended WSU and graduated in 1960. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. Stan received a BA in Education and a minor in Social Studies. His fifth-year master’s degree was obtained at CWSU.
He married Carol Ann Repp in 1958. They moved to Yakima after he graduated college. They created a beautiful home of 60+ years where they raised their family and enjoyed life in Terrace Heights. Stan taught and coached for 33 years in East Valley. He was principal for 25 combined years at EVHS and EVC Middle School. He was also involved with the design and planning for the new and present EV High School. He served as President of the YVAA and the Washington Association of School Principals and honored as Principal of the year by the State School Counselor Association.
Stan enjoyed mentoring young people and continued to work with them after his retirement in 1993. He worked for CWSH as a September experience, and student teacher advisor. He also substituted in the Yakima school district for many years after retirement. Stan was always dedicated to the Washington State Cougars and was a season ticket holder for several years. He was also a charter member of the Terrace Heights Lions Club and lifetime member of the Yakima Elks where he enjoyed playing golf with friends, and where he had his hole in one!
Stan and Carol were also longtime members of the Grace of Christ Presbyterian Church of Yakima. They enjoyed traveling with friends and different groups after retirement. They took many trips in their motor home and enjoyed taking it to Southern California and Oregon beaches with family and friends.
Stan is survived by his two children, Terri Ann Noble and Todd Kevin Schmick (Heidi Schmick spouse). Four grandchildren, Quint Noble, Collin Noble and Carson and Kayla Schmick. Great grandchildren, Whit and Beau Noble. He is also survived by his sister Connie McDonald and brother Tom Schmick. Brother-in-law Randy Repp (Kristin Repp) and sister in law Gayle Heaton (Jack Heaton). His is preceded in death by his wife Carol Schmick and his brother Jerry Schmick.
A celebration of life will be held at Grace of Christ Presbyterian Church of Yakima on Saturday, May 23, at 11a.m. All are welcome and brunch to follow. Donations can be made to any charity of choice. The Family would like to thank everyone for their condolences and kind words, celebrating the special person Stan Schmick was and will be remembered as.
