Steve Robert Korn

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Steve R Korn. Steve was born on July 12, 1942 and passed away on June 15, 2025. He was a beloved figure in our community, known for his generosity, politeness, easy-going nature, and caring spirit.

Steve graduated from Eisenhower High School in Yakima, WA, Class of 1960. After high school he attended University of Idaho then enlisted in the Army Reserve. Steve was based at Fort Ord in Marina, CA. After his discharge, Steve acquired his appraisal license and went into business with his father doing both residential and commercial real estate appraising. A profession that Steve enjoyed until his passing.

Steve leaves behind his devoted wife, Carol Fischer, a daughter Stephanie (Jim) Murr and grandsons Mike and Josh Murr, step-daughters Lisa (Silvestre) Aguilar, and Lori (Ron) Seawright, and step-son Andrew (Kim) Fischer, and a sister, Jane Kendall. Steve also left behind his two beloved pets, Bentley Boy and Lucy Liu.

Steve was sadly predeceased by his parents, Dorothy (Green) and Ralph Korn, and his step-daughter, Jennifer Fischer-Train.

Steve was a passionate golfer and could often be found at the Yakima Country Club; where he was a long-time member. He also enjoyed long-distance running, a hobby that led him to one of his greatest accomplishments -- participating in the Seattle Marathon. It's also how he met his wife of over 30 years. Steve loved being close to the water and kept his boat moored in La Conner, WA for many years. After selling their boat, Steve and Carol continued to visit La Conner several times a year. It was their special place.

Steve was a man of good character, loved by everyone. His personality sparked joy in every room he entered, and his ability to make people feel cared for was unmatched. His memories and influence will remain in our hearts and minds forever. Steve Korn, you will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Steve's life will be planned at a later time.
