Victor Loyd Berg, 87, born in North Dakota to Rheinholdt and Dorothy Berg, after a 17 year long struggle with Alzheimer’s passed from this earth to heaven on April 27, 2015 at home with his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter at his side.
At the age of 6 Victor moved from North Dakota to Moxee with his family where he attended school. While in grade school, he would attend in the morning then go out to work in the potato fields with his father and brother in the afternoons. In WW2, during his Jr. year of high school he joined the Navy and served in the Pacific. After he was discharged, he returned to Moxee and finished his Senior year, graduating in 1947. After graduation, he went to work for a local bank where he met his future wife, Tennis Knoblich, marrying in 1950, and they were married for 64 years. He worked for Kelly Oil Co. from 1948-1980, then in Ellensburg from 1980-1982 before working at Freeth Distributing until retiring in 1998.
Victor worked hard all of his life. He enjoyed being outdoors, working on his farm, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Tenny, sons Greg (Cheryl), Kevin (Catharina) and daughter Kindra (Bill), 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister.
The family would like to especially thank his daughter-in-law Catharina, son Kevin, granddaughter Sydney, daughter Kindra, son-in-law Bill and grandsons Kyle and Logan for their loving care of Victor during his lengthy illness, making it possible for him to remain at home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s research or a favorite charity of choice.
