William left school at age 15 to help support his family. He joined the US Army in 1951 and served until 1953 and was a veteran of the Korean War. While in the Army he made two very special friends, Jerry Johnson and Jerry Dewey, and they continued their friendship to this day.
He met his wife Patricia when she was 9, he started dating her when she was 14. They were married September 1, 1951 in Gig Harbor, WA when she turned 17. They enjoyed more than 62 years together and raised 5 children, through the high and low times of their lives together.
He was a scout leader, volunteer at the Naches Fire Department and the Naches Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting, outdoors, traveling, playing cards and one of his greatest pleasures was watching his grandchildren’s involvement in sports and activities.
William is survived by his wife, Patricia Jacobson, daughter, Regina Williams, daughter, Roxane Hunt, daughter Renee (Jerry) Cullop, son, Rodney (Linda) Jacobson, daughter, Rhonda (Shawn) Pettijohn, sisters, Betty Jacobson and Pat Rhodes, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
