William Kenneth "Ken" Thornton

Ken served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his military service, Ken married the love of his life Glena E. Nalley on September 23, 1950 in Pyatt, Arkansas. Ken and Glena moved to Taft, California to be near family where he worked for Standard Oil. He went on to work in Banks, Oregon in the logging industry. Logging would bring the family to Naches where he worked for a number of logging companies which included Webb, Jefferson and Zwight Logging.

He loved everything that could be done in the beautiful outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and boating. Ken was a man of hard work and passionate about his loving family.

Ken is survived by his wife Glena; daughters Shirley (Dennis Ingram) Calvert, Moni Melton and Sandi (Michael) Davis; son Joe D. Thornton; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Allen Calvert, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Keith & Keith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm, Friday, December 4 at Keith & Keith.

Burial will follow the funeral at Naches Cemetery.
