Elizabeth "Betty" Joan Long

Elizabeth was born to Francis and Elizabeth(Donovan) Cross on July 18, 1929, in New York, NY. Betty and her husband John (Jack) Long married in 1951 living in upstate NY until 1969 they moved to Maine, they spent 46 years together before Jack passed away on Thanksgiving day 1998. Together, they had two children, Betty was predeceased by her son Roger and survived by her son John. Her family was a central part of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Betty was a member and served as President of the Garden Club, where she was able to share her passion and cultivated many friendships. She was also a member of Holy Martyrs Church in Falmouth and was an instructor for CCD classes.

Betty is predeceased by both her parents, Elizabeth and Francis, her husband, Jack, her son Roger in 2009, her sisters Regina, Marilyn and Margaret,

She is survived by her son, John, of Cumberland Foreside, her brother Frank Cross, her grandchildren Barbara, Edward, Kimberly, and John IV, her great grandchildren Tyler, Alexander, and Ashton.

A Time of Visitation will be held on December 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane in Yarmouth. A Committal service at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth will take place in the Spring.

Betty will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her community. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
