Isaac Gabriel Benjamin

Pownal – Isaac Gabriel Benjamin, 5, of Pownal passed from this life to the next unexpected Sunday November 14, 2010 as a result of an accident. He was born on October 2, 2005 in Catania, Italy, a son of Jennifer (Gowen) and Shawn Benjamin. He had been attending Children’s Odyssey in Portland for the past two years.

Isaac was a normal yet exceptional youngster who had a zest for life and enjoyed being a boy. Happy, trusting, gentle, outgoing, smiling are words that readily describe Isaac. He had a big heart to fit his big personality and easily introduced himself to anyone within range. He will be remembered for his Wii talent, his wit – even at age 5, being a great dancer, adding drama when needed, having an inquisitive nature, paying attention to details and “making a deal”. Isaac had very high empathy and compassion for those in distress and proved that to his mother and father any number of times with his kind heart and kind eye.

Isaac is survived by his parents, Jennifer and Shawn of Pownal; his sister and brother, Shawna and Jacob of Pownal; his grandmother Dianne Thompson of Pownal; his grandfather Chris Gowen of Pownal; his grandmother Norma Benjamin of Maryland; his great-grandparents, Judy and Clint Norton of Florida; Special uncles Parker Chipman and Zach Chipman; Auntie “Cole”; his “adorable” new cousin Colby; and a “slew” of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Isaac was predeceased by his great grandfather Merle Thompson and his great-grandmother Maxine Morgan.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday November 18, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry lane, Yarmouth, ME. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday November 20, 2010 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Freeport, 185 Main Street, Freeport, ME. Burial will follow in Burr Cemetery in Freeport.
