

Florence, SC - Richard Patrick Ford, 71, of North Port, FL and Yarmouth, ME, passed on April 27, 2012. Richard was born on July 22, 1940 to Patrick and Helen Ford of Glens Falls, NY. Richard graduated high school from St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls in 1958, and then from St. Bonaventure University in 1962. Richard worked for the Kimberly Clark Corporation for 37 years as a sales representative and district manager, retiring in 2002.
Dick had a great interest in golf and was a long time member of the Val Halla and the Sabel Trace Golf Associations. He enjoyed golfing with his sons and most recently was looking forward to golfing with his grandson, Brady. For years Dick was an avid fan of any and all activities and sporting events of his children and grandchildren. Having been a gifted basketball player, he was able to pass on his gift and love for the game to all three of his children. A hard working and extremely loyal man, Dick was always there for his family and friends, not only as a husband, father and employee, but also as a role model and mentor. Richard and his family were communicants of the Parish of the Holy Eucharist.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathleen, and their three children: son Richard and wife Jeannifer of Little Ferry, NJ; son David, wife Kellie, and grandchildren Hannah and Brady of Newburyport, MA; daughter Colleen, husband Ian Murphy, and grandchildren Caroline and Michael of Westwood, MA. He is survived by a brother John, wife Virginia, and their children Carolyn and Patrick. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews on his wife's side of the family.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday May 3, 2012 from 5 – 7 PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME 04096. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 4 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 326 Main Street, Yarmouth with a reception immediately following in the church hall. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Smith Street, Yarmouth at a later time.
