

Ruth Wentworth Conrad was born October 4, 1919 in Belmont, Massachusetts, to the late Ruth Wentworth Cadieux and Louis Edourd Cadieux. She passed away peacefully on July 20, 2016 in Yarmouth, Maine, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Louise (Cadieux) Fulmer, and by her beloved husband of 55 years, Albert A. Conrad, Jr..
Ruth received her Bachelor or Arts degree from Syracuse University in 1942 and received her Masters in Education from Boston University in 1970. She worked in both the Needham, and Wellesley, Massachusetts, High Schools before moving to the Balch School in Norwood where she was made the Elementary School Library Coordinator. One of her great joys was reading to children and passing on her love of literature to them.
Ruth was married to Albert A. Conrad, Jr. on November 18, 1942, at Our Lady, Star of the Sea Chapel in Atlantic City, and together they raised six children.
Ruth is survived by her six children and their spouses: Geoffrey W. Conrad and Karen (Hildebrant) Conrad of Bloomington, Indiana, Peter Conrad and Sandra (McCoy) Conrad of Concord, Massachusetts, Kathleen (Conrad) Grossman and Richard S. Grossman of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, Judith (Conrad) Millener and Phillip Millener of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Marc Conrad and Beth (Hadney) Conrad of Dover, Massachusetts, and Laurie (Conrad) McBride of Portland, Maine.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A private Mass for family only will be held on July 25 at Holy Martyrs Church in Falmouth, Maine, at 10:00 AM. On-line condolences can be given to the family at www.lindquistfuneralhome.com.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July of 2017 at her beloved summer home on Birch Island, Casco Bay, with her children, extended family, and lifelong friends.
