

Yarmouth – Marion Shirley (Sellers) Wagner passed away Tuesday November 15, 2011 at Coastal Manor in Yarmouth. Mrs. Wagner was born in Woburn, MA, the daughter of Edna Hamilton and Charles M. Sellers. She attended Woburn schools and graduated from Woburn High School in 1938. She also graduated from the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Boston. She was a registered nurse. During WWII, Mrs. Wagner was an officer in the US Navy Nurse Corps.
In 1944, she married Ernest L. Dow, Jr. of Auburn, ME. They were later divorced. In 1961, she married Richard H. Wagner of Portland, ME. Mr. Wagner died in 1990.
Mrs. Wagner practiced nursing in many states but her longest tour of duty was at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine, which became Brighton Medical Center. She had been a member of the Massachusetts, New York and Maine State Nurses Association, a member of the Golden Club of OHM (retirement club) and was a volunteer for the Cleo Fund, Inc. (an animal spaying organization).
Mrs. Wagner is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two half brothers. At Mrs. Wagner’s request there will be no services or visiting hours. Please visit www.lindquistfuneralhome.com to share your condolences, memories and tributes with her family.
