Adele M. Teekle

Adele M. Teekle, 96, of New City, formerly of Hastings passed away on Sunday August 14, 2011. She was born on June 24, 1915 in New York City to George C. and Mary (Lewis) Rice. Adele lived in Hastings from 1944 to 1965 then moved to New City. Her loving husband of many years John L. Teekle predeceased her in 1973. Adele worked as an operator for Western Electric in New York City for many years; she was a life member and Past President of the VFW in Hastings as well as being a member and Past Officer of the New City Senior Citizens Club. She was very dedicated and caring for her loving family. Besides her husband Adele was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Ricco and brother George Rice. She is survived by her loving daughter Barbara Meyer, her 5 cherished grandchildren Eileen (John) Conjura, Barbara J. (Michael) Mihalczo, Christopher J. (Donna) Meyer, Diane A. (Jeffery) Young, Nancy (Shawn) Kowalski, her adored 11 great grandchildren, 8 great, great grandchildren and her nephew whom she raised Alan Albert of Stratford Ct. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 9:30am in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
