Anne Formato was born on August 31, 1974 and began her life on Pearsall Avenue in the Bronx. She was the beloved daughter of John Formato and Dianne (Mattiello) Formato, and the cherished sister of Dianne (Formato) Pisani and her husband, Sergio Pisani, who were married in 1995. Anne was a proud alumna of Christopher Columbus High School, Class of 1992.
In 1997, the family moved to the Dunwoodie section of Yonkers, where Anne joyfully embraced one of her favorite roles in life. She became an Aunt to Jana (1997), Sergio (1998), and Dominic (2000). That same year, in September 1997, she took on a role that meant the world to her when she became Jana’s Godmother, a title she carried with deep love and devotion.
Anne began her career as a medical biller with NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Medical Group and later furthered her career as the Office Manager for Southern Westchester Orthopedic and Sports Medicine. She was a dedicated and dependable professional who took pride in her work, and her coworkers deeply appreciated her commitment, warmth, and work ethic.
Anne was known for her love of music especially the Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, and freestyle. Her most favorite thing was going to concerts, she was a true dancing queen. She cherished time spent with family, especially her trips to Florida to visit loved ones, creating memories filled with laughter, stories, and togetherness.
Anne’s Christmas spirit was truly unforgettable. She was famous for baking her late mother’s cookies, decorations, and for creating new traditional desserts of her own, filling homes not just with incredible treats, but with warmth, love, and tradition.
She held a special place in her heart for Deanna Pacheco and her Godchildren: Jordan Mondello, Jana Pisani, Christian Marziano, and Victoria Pacheco, loving each of them deeply and proudly.
Anne is predeceased by her mother, Dianne (Mattiello) Formato. She is survived by her beloved father; John Formato; sister, Dianne (Formato) Pisani; her brother-in-law, Sergio Pisani; her niece and nephews, Jana Pisani, Sergio Pisani (fiancé Jackie Hoyos), and Dominic Pisani; and her many cousins, whom she loved dearly and always looked to as siblings. She was loved endlessly, and she gave that same love back without hesitation. In a world full of aunts, she was a Titi. She was everybody’s Titi.
Anne’s life was a beautiful reflection of kindness, devotion, and quiet strength, and her impact can be felt in every person she loved and every moment she shared. She leaves behind more than memories. She leaves behind a presence that will always be felt. Her love will continue to echo in family gatherings, in favorite songs, in holiday kitchens, and in every heart that was lucky enough to know her.
