

Born in Ghana on February 23, 1967, Augustina Dankwah departed this life on February 6, 2026, following complications from a traumatic brain injury she sustained four years ago. Augustina lived a life defined by strength, discipline, and compassion. She was an intelligent and hardworking woman who approached every responsibility with steadiness and poise, never easily shaken.
For over 30 years, Augustina worked as a home health aide, finding purpose in caring for those who could not care for themselves. She gave her time and energy wholeheartedly, treating those in her care with patience, compassion, and kindness. For her, caring for others was never simply a duty—it was a calling and a way of life.
Augustina was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Kwaku Bediako, and a deeply loving mother to her daughters, Stephanie Bediako and Mary Bediako. Motherhood was central to her life. She poured herself into raising her daughters with guidance, structure, and determined support. Through her example, she instilled the values of resilience, responsibility, and grace.
Beyond her immediate household, Augustina worked diligently to support her extended family in Ghana, a responsibility she carried with pride and love. Her generosity reached across borders, reflecting her deep commitment to family and sacrifice.
Augustina will be remembered for the strength and commitment with which she lived, and for the devotion she showed to those she loved. She built a life grounded in family, sacrifice, and faithfulness. Her influence will continue to shape the lives of her loved ones and the many individuals she touched. Augustina will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
Visiting hours will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, located at 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703, on Friday February 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 20, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
Final disposition will take place in Ghana.
